This herbal tea has anti-inflammatory properties for those experiencing muscle and/or joint aches and pains from illnesses such as Lyme disease and EBV (Epstein Barr Virus). Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) has grown in popularity due to it's positive effects in aiding patients with Lyme disease and co-infections as it is an immune system stimulant. It's anti-microbial properties aren't too shabby either. Historically, Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) has been utilized to set broken bones, hence it's common name. Native American tribes used the herb for arthritis and rheumatic ailments and was used during the influenza epidemics of 1918 to treat the experienced fevers and pains. In addition to the similarity to Cat's Claw as an anti-inflammatory and to Boneset with arthritic relief, Sarsaparilla (Smilax ornata) also behaves as a immuno-modulator and neuro-protector. It has been used previously as a cleansing agent for the body, an energy and stamina booster and even a muscle mass builder that is much safer than steroids. Although it has mostly been used for an enlarged prostate, Nettle Root (Urtica dioica) completes our anti-inflammation trend with Achey.
